OUR STORY

What Motivates Us

There’s no better feeling than when we match one of our precious Frenchies with their caring new owner. It’s why we put so much time, love, and effort into making sure these special animals continue to be bred.

We’ve learned a lot about the process since our first litter a couple of years ago and have become one of the top breeders in NYS. To find out more or to reserve one of these wonderful dogs, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to tell you everything you need to know.

PHILOSOPHY & MISSION

Humane Treatment

We believe that all animals should be treated as part of the family. That is why specialize in the safe, humane treatment of all of our dogs.  Our dogs are not locked up and stuck in cages or pens like some other breeders. We believe in crate training as a tool when used properly. Our dogs are crated only as a safety measure for them. We care for our dogs not just as pets, but as members of our family and ensure the same is done by the dogs placed in our Guardian Homes.

We ensure the same is true for our puppies when they find their new fur-ever home. As a responsible Frenchie Breeder, we carefully screen potential owners to make sure they understand exactly what is required when it comes to taking care of these dogs and to ensure the pup will have the best life possible. To find out more or to reserve a particular pup, please get in touch.

What You Need to Know About Our French Bulldog Breeding Process

At French Bean Bulldogs, our breeding program is focused on producing healthy, happy, and well-tempered French Bulldog puppies. Our breeding dogs are carefully selected based on their conformation, temperament, and health history. We breed dogs that are genetically tested for common breed specific health issues.  As a potential customer, it's important to understand our breeding process and what you can expect when working with us.

Frenchies can have a difficult time mating naturally due to their unique anatomy, so we often use artificial insemination (AI) to breed our dogs. Here is a step-by-step guide to our breeding process:

  1. Selecting a Sire: We select a stud dog that is compatible with the female based on their genetics and temperament.

  2. Preparing the Female: The female is given a hormonal test to determine when she is ovulating and ready to be bred.

  3. Collecting Semen: The semen from the stud dog is collected for use in the breeding process.

  4. Insemination: The semen is then inseminated into the female using a sterile AI kit.

  5. Confirming Pregnancy: After approximately 30-35 days, a veterinarian will perform an ultrasound to confirm pregnancy.

The gestation period for Frenchies is approximately 61-63 days. During this time, the female will require additional care, including proper nutrition and regular check-ups with a veterinarian. Whelping, or giving birth, almost always requires a cesarean section, which is performed by fully trained and licensed veterinarians. Our experienced staff is always present during whelping to ensure that both the mother and her puppies are safe and healthy. A litter typically has between 4 and 6 puppies and each of our females are bred a maximum of 3 times to reduce stress and strain on their bodies.

We understand that choosing a French Bulldog puppy is a significant decision, and we are committed to making the process as straightforward and enjoyable as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

About Our Guardian Homes

At French Bean Bulldogs, we believe that our female Frenchies deserve a loving and stable home environment while they are in our breeding program. That's why we have implemented a guardian home program to provide them with the best possible care.

Guardian homes are carefully selected families who provide a loving and safe environment for one of our breeding females. Our guardian homes play an important role in our breeding program, as they help to ensure that our females are well-cared for and have the opportunity to live as a beloved family pet. The guardian home provides the daily care and attention that a breeding female needs, while also allowing us to continue to use her in our breeding program.

We work closely with our guardian homes to ensure that they have the support and resources they need to provide the best possible care for their Frenchie. This includes providing veterinary care and support for any training or behavior issues that may arise. In return, the guardian home has the opportunity to enjoy the love and companionship of a Frenchie and get to keep the Frenchie as their own at the completion of the program.
